We all know that Pinterest is the place where good intentions go to die and the sad realisation that you don't have a single crafty bone in your body becomes frighteningly apparent (seriously, some of these are so good). But let me tell you - PINTEREST IS REAL, GUYS. From the flowers in Tash's hair to the bunting on the fence to the pizza van that turned up after dinner; Tash and Jack's wedding was what dreams are made of (be still my Hilary Duff loving beating heart, ahem).

You know sometimes when you're out and about and you briefly spot a couple who is just so YES. Who just look so right for each other and your heart does a little fuzzy flip of happiness that the world has brought two perfectly suited people together!? That is literally Sarah and Matty. Except this time they didn't flash past me in a supermarket or on the train. I got to the spend the whole diggin' DAY with them. And basque in the loveliness of all their friends and family. And eat a full 3 course dinner. And laugh way more than is socially acceptable for a wedding photographer to laugh at the speeches.

I just realized that with the whole going-back-to-uni-now-you're-in-fourth-year-thing, I never actually got round to sharing some photos from Fay and Rick's picturesque wedding last September. I managed to upload photos of the beautiful book they had made, while seemingly hop, skipping and jumping past the actual official day. But boy, oh boy do I feel like they need sharing now though! It's absolutely freezing cold in my house and I'm huddled under a blanket with a cup of tea, but a quick browse through these photos from a warm day in late summer is bringing the feeling back to my toes!

It's not often that I get to see my photographs in any other form other than online or on my computer. I don't even have a portfolio to my name and have only ever printed my own pictures on everyday paper with the simple intent to show my biggest fan (my Mum) and my second biggest fan (my Dad). So it was a very, very very exciting moment when, after almost a month of waiting, a huge package was delivered to my door this morning. Inside? Only the most beautifully crafted book I have ever had the pleasure of being in the presence of filled to the brim with photographs from Fay and Rick's wedding in early September.
The book is from Booked Images and I simply couldn't recommend their service more, I'd recommend it more than Cadbury Creme Eggs. No lie. (Okay, maybe I'm lying a little bit but I would recommend it more than Crunchie - no contest). It might cost an arm and a leg but, oof, I think I'd rather be limbless.

A few more pictures are here and the rest are soon to follow. Judging by the amount of hours I've spent today in front of my computer drinking tea (currently 13 hours and counting..!!) they should be done and dusted pretty soon and ready for your viewing pleasure :)
Tom and Joanna - Wedding Bells!

I had the absolute pleasure of being the wedding photographer for these two very lovely people a few weeks ago. The ceremony was in a local church in my town and followed by some of the most delicious cakes I've ever tasted outside the church in the sun before a trip up to Reigate Hill to shoot some gorgeous portraits of the newly married couple! After Jo got down on all fours and scrambled underneath a barbed wire fence in full wedding attire (which was definitely worth the stress for the beautiful shot it got!), we headed over to the reception at another local church venue where the gorgeous table set up included all the train stations in the UK that held special memories for them both. The evening was spent dancing the night away to a traditional Scottish ceilidh..which was surprisingly energetic and my legs were definitely feeling a little sore the next day - as I'm sure some of the guests heads were too! My favourite part of the day? The sparkler send off at 10pm. What an absolutely beautiful way to end one of the most lovely weddings I've had the pleasure to be a part of. Congratulations Joanna and Tom and I wish you both all the happiness in the world (and I am so ridiculously jealous of your beautiful little flat!!!)
Letterbox surprise!
05/05/2014
Look at what lovely little thing dropped through my letterbox this morning.
Isn't it beaut? If there is one thing I am very excited for this summer, it's to shoot this wonderful couples wedding. I did some engagement photographs for Jo and Tom last summer (see here) after which they asked me to do the big day as well, so getting this through the post just now has just made me do a crazy happy excited dance in my pyjamas. I'm not even kidding. In fact, I'm almost counting down the seconds until I can be unleashed onto this gorgeous local wedding with my camera and a wholeeee day of love and happiness to photograph. The best way to spend a Saturday. I think I might even be more excited than Jo and Tom themselves...
But alas, until I can share some of the photographs from the Big Day itself, a few little snaps of the beautifully simple wedding invitations will have to suffice!
